Can you believe we’re already midway through 2024?

There have been loads of exciting changes in electronics manufacturing since the start of the year, especially when it comes to semiconductors. Plus, our teams have worked on many exciting projects, helping bring cutting-edge products to market. And we can’t forget about all the events we’ve attended — the most recent of which being Subcon!

Join us as we reflect on all this and set our sights on what’s next in store for us. We can’t wait to catch you up on everything that’s been going on…

Looking back on the last six months

Despite the challenges the electronics manufacturing industry faced at the start of January, we’ve witnessed heaps of positive developments in the first half of the year.

For example, on 20 May 2024, the UK government announced the UK Semiconductor Institute. As part of the country’s Semiconductor Strategy, it aims to…

  • Facilitate communication between organisations working on semiconductor science.
  • Ensure chip researchers can convert ideas to market-ready products.
  • Attract foreign investment in the British semiconductor sector.

And that’s not all!

In March, the government also pledged a £16.6 million boost to help semiconductor researchers and businesses fund the production of chips used in electric vehicles and across the green energy industry.

All this gives us hope that we can soon wave goodbye to the semiconductor shortages left over from 2023…

What’s more, although labour costs remain high, European electronics manufacturing companies report improvements in material costs, as well as things like backlogs and the ease of recruitment. So, it’s safe to say things are heading in the right direction.

Celebrating our recent electronics manufacturing successes

As for what we’ve got to celebrate from the last six months, two products spring to mind.

This year, we provided our electronics manufacturing services during the production of the Prefect Controls HobSensus and the FireBrick FB9000. The former is an intelligent sensor-based device that helps prevent kitchen fires. Meanwhile, the latter is an optimised internet appliance offering efficiency, sustainability and many specialised features.

They’re both innovative products that required complex electronics manufacturing solutions. So, we’re honoured to have helped manufacture them.

We’re also immensely proud to have been recertified to 13485:2016 and ISO 9001:2015 in 2024. These quality standards are crucial in ensuring we maintain our commitment to excellence — and continue delivering the best possible results for our customers.

And now, onto events!

It’s been such a treat to attend not one, but two huge exhibitions so far in 2024. In February, we went to Southern Manufacturing & Electronics in Farnborough, and in June, we travelled to Manchester for Subcon.

Having had our own stands each time, we thoroughly enjoyed catching up with visitors and soaking in the bustling atmosphere at both events. In fact, we enjoyed them so much that we can’t wait to do it all again. Which brings us to our next point…

Gearing up for what’s to come

There are some very exciting things on our agenda for the second half of 2024, including an array of upcoming electronics manufacturing projects.

And even though we’ll be very busy working on new products, we wouldn’t miss the Electronic Component Show for the world!

Taking place at the Kassam Stadium in Oxford on Thursday, 19 September, this must-attend event is the perfect place for industry professionals to chat, network and find out what’s new with fellow attendees.

We’re particularly looking forward to the Electronic Component Show seminar, where attendees will tackle the latest industry challenges, hot topics and expectations for the future…

It’s going to be a hugely exciting day filled with inspiring conversations. And we’d love for you to be a part of it all!

So, if you’re free, why not secure your spot?

General admission is free, and you can register your attendance online in just a few clicks. You’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain…
