INSPECTION

 

AOI

MEK PowerSpector FDAz 650L AOI

EMS offer, as standard, Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) on all SMT production batches.  Our MEK PowerSpector FDAz 650L AOI machine provides flexibility, quick simple setup and is capable of optically inspecting;

  • All type of electronic component from 01005", all types of semiconductor and conventional components.
  • Component location, orientation, value, part number, solder fillet, lead spacing & solder bridge inspection.
  • Via 18.75u HD Camera with telecentric optics and eight off 10u side cameras for side and edge inspection of components.
  • Omnidirectional multi angle, multi-colour LED lighting with the capability to test a range of criteria on all types of solder joints

For prototype assemblies and sample batch inspection we use a Mantis Elite stereo microscope with a camera option used for training and analysis.

QUALITY

IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronics Assemblies)

All of EMS' inspectors are qualified to IPC-A-610, with all assemblies manufactured to IPC-A-610 Class 2 as standard, with Class 3 available on request.

CONTROL

EMS' use Metcal's MFR-1100 Series Single Output Soldering stations.  These stations incorporate Metcal's SmartHeat® Technology which guarantees precise delivery of the required energy for each connection.

IPC J-STD-001

All of EMS' operators are certified to IPC J-STD-001 (Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies) which guarantees high quality assembly processes at all stages of Production.

CUT & STRIP

Our automatic wire cutting and stripping capability, up to 14mm diameter, is provided by;

CRIMPING

A complete range of solutions including full automation for reel fed crimps, partial automation for bulk / loose crimps and a large range of hand crimp tools.

QUALITY

IPC/WHMA-A-620

AUTOMATED

EMS provides a range of Automated Test Solutions either as part of a whole product assembly or as a standalone service.  EMS provides test solutions for;

  • In-circuit test – using our in house jig production capability and our ATE test units.

PCBs

EMS offer a comprehensive PCB solution from bare boards supply for your in house production to PCBs supplied as part of a complete procurement solution to be assembled by EMS.

Components

Utilising our purchasing power in harmony with our supply partners we can source and supply a comprehensive range of components, including hard to find and obsolete component sourcing.

For your production requirements we hold a large stock of standard resistors and capacitors.  This stock holding allows EMS to focus on the components unique to your assembly.
